Mentors at Chasdei Lev juggle multiple families with no way to see who needs them right now. I designed the dashboard that answers that at a glance.
Chasdei Lev pairs volunteer mentors with families working toward financial independence. Mentors were tracking tasks, checking family status, and catching updates through a single landing page - no dashboard, no hierarchy, no way to tell who needed them right now.
This was a team capstone: three parallel teams each built a different view of the same system (mentor, family, manager). My five-person team owned the mentor-facing dashboard, research through prototype.
We ran a competitive review, mentor interviews, and a SUS evaluation of the existing tool. The finding wasn't a missing feature - it was missing hierarchy. With 2-4 families at once, everything read as equally urgent, which meant nothing did.

Coordinates 2-4 families at once - no single view showing who needs her right now
Wants a read, not a report - a quick status before deciding where to dig in
The relationship still matters - a tool that supports trust with a family, not one that replaces it with checkboxes
Status first, not a data dump. Every family shows a simple status - on track, stalled, or waiting on the mentor - so you see who needs attention in seconds, without scrolling through every field.
No training manual. New features are explained with small tooltips right where you need them - not in a separate guide - since most mentors are volunteers, not people who use the system every day.
Mentors asked for WhatsApp integration. We left it for v2 - a second channel before the dashboard itself was proven would have spread the first release too thin.
We used the Elastic design system as our foundation, then moved from low-fidelity wireframes - tested and revised against mentor feedback - to a desktop-first high-fidelity prototype in Figma.

This is a prototype, not a shipped product - no engineering handoff and no usage data yet. What it has is validation from the organization itself:
Zalmi Bistritzky, CEO, Chasdei Lev:
"We believe the solution you proposed will significantly improve the user experience for our organization's mentors, and help them do their work better, more effectively, and more easily."
I'm currently exploring new opportunities in product design and UX research.
