Tone AI
An EQ plugin concept for music producers. You describe the sound in words, and it shapes the curve for you.
The problem
Today anyone can start making music. But the tools they get are built for people with technical knowledge most beginners don't have.
Tone AI makes that process far less technical - you shape the sound by describing it, and hear the effect of each change without needing to understand the software behind it.
The solution
Shaping
You type "warmer, with more air on the vocal." The curve moves, and you hear the change right away.
Surgical work
You type "something's whistling in my ear." Tone AI finds the exact frequency and cuts it - a slow, manual search, done for you.
Key decisions
A dark mode for the DAW
Light is the default, but most DAWs run dark, so the plugin can match them. The dark theme keeps its contrast at WCAG AA.
The curve stays visible
Every change you describe shows up on the EQ curve. And if you want to adjust it yourself, you can just drag it.
Where I'd take it next
One prompt, one change
Instead of an ongoing chat with the AI, each prompt would stand on its own. You ask for one change, you get it, and the next request starts from a clean slate.
Prompt suggestions
Beginners don't always know how to describe a sound. Ready-made prompts like "warmer", "less muddy" or "brighter vocal" would give them a place to start.
A short note on every change
After each prompt, one line explaining what happened - "Cut 3dB around 250Hz, where the muddiness was." You see what changed without needing to understand it.
Before and after
One button to switch between the original sound and the new one, so you can hear whether the change actually helped.
